About Chilean Patagonia

The region known as Patagonia includes land from Chile and Argentina at the Southern-most point of South America. This is a harsh and beautiful environment with vast expanses of virtually untouched land.

Chilean Patagonia begins near Punta Arenas and continues to the Tierra del Fuego (Named by Ferdinand Magellan) area seen on the map below.

Although cold and harsh during winter, Chilean Patagonia is absolutely stunning and one can buy vast tracts of pristine land for a fraction of what you would pay for a nice house on a 1/4 acre plot in suburban USA, Canada or the UK.

Patagonia Chile South America

For true adventurers and those who are serious about getting away from it all, living or vacationing in Chilean patagonia offers spectacular views, unbeatable fishing, hunting, horseback riding, mountain climbing... It is undeveloped and pollution free, and there are even areas that are suitable for breeding livestock and growing crops.

Chilean Patagonia can be broken down further into two sub-regions: the Aisen region and the Magallanes. In Aisen you will find Parque National Laguna San Rafael and a rugged landscape that makes prime real estate for anyone who likes the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and similar environments. The Magellanes is more difficult to get to (reachable only by are or through Argentina and isolated by fierce storms and trecherous mountains) but well worth the effort if only to see the indiscribable Parque National Torres del Paine.

Most tours of Chilean Patagonia will start from Punta Arenas, listed on the map below:
